Mortons Neuroma

(or Localised Pain in the Ball of the Foot)

This condition is commonly associated with Metatarsalgia (see Conditions - Ball of Foot Pain)

Morton's Neuroma is commonly an entrapment of a nerve between the toes, a rather painful condition usually situated between the third and fourth toes.

Usually it is characterised by a sharp, stabbing pain, usually when wearing shoes as it squeezes the toes and metatarsal joints together and one feels patient feels that they may need to remove their shoe and rub their foot for relief.

When a foot excessively pronates the arch collapses and so does the transverse arch across the ball of the foot, the metatarsal joints come closer together causing pressure and pinching on the nerve lying between the third and fourth metatarsal bones.

In severe cases surgical intervention may be required however Pedistep® can assist by realigning and supporting the arches, especially prior to any surgery being required.

Because this is a body mechanical problem using Pedistep® after surgical intervention can be of benefit to attend to other conditions caused by excessive pronation and misaligned foundational structures.
